With eight wineries as members, ABC’s philosophy emphasizes viticulture and quality enology

5th May, Haro.- Members of Rioja's Centenarian and Traditional Wineries' Group (ABC, Agrupación de Bodegas Centenarias y Tradicionales de Rioja) unanimously accepted Bodegas y Viñedos de Gómez Cruzado, S.A. as new members, given that meets all the association’s requirements. The following wineries are already members of ABC: CVNE (Northern Spain Wine Company); Viñedos del Contino; Bodegas Muga, La Rioja Alta, S.A.; Torre de Oña, and Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta.

This group was founded February 7th, 2002 as a business association in Rioja DOCa with the objective of coordinating and defending its members' common professional and business interests related to the sector’s policies. The group serves as a spokesperson dealing with government agencies and all types of entities, while also facilitating communication and cooperation with other businesses in the wine sector.

This group represents its members before the Interprofessional Organization of Rioja Wines (OIPVR, for its initials in Spanish) and the Rioja Regulatory Council as well.

ABC’s philosophy emphasizes viticulture and quality enology, by means of the utmost respect for reasonable and balanced production and high quality parameters for the final product. ABC is convinced that growth in Rioja must be based on increasing the value of its products by positioning them in high quality segments areas of the international market, taking advantage of Rioja’s outstanding qualities and the market’s demand, without sacrificing the true character of Rioja.
