The Sunday Times Magazine selects Gómez Cruzado Reserva as 1 of its 20 Winter Reds

11 of November of 2014

Haro, 11 November 2014 - The Sunday Times Magazine publishes a special food issue every November, and this year Gómez Cruzado Reserva 2007 was the only Rioja among the its 20 ideal-for-winter reds. The magazine recommends a wide variety of wines for the coldest months of the year, including choices from the new and old continents, and all of them boast good value for money. Aside from Gómez Cruzado Reserva, the list includes just one other Spanish wine from Jumilla.

Gómez Cruzado Reserva is this century-old winery's most representative wine. It is also the wine from its collection that is most similar to the style of fine wines from the Barrio de la Estación in Haro, where this winery is located. "This award-winning jewel pairs very well with the British palate. Ideal for dinners planned for November", recommends the Sunday Times Magazine.

This monovarietal wine begins with bush-trained vineyards located in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa that date back over 30 years. Gómez Cruzado Reserva matures in American and French oak for 18 months, and then in the bottle for two years.

Fines wines with typicity
Founded in 1886, Gómez Cruzado is the boutique winery of the Barrio de la Estación in Haro. The team at this winery looks after every last detail and the typicity of the area's fine wines, while at the same time exploring the expressions of their 50 hectares of vineyards located across diverse environments: Garnacha in the Alto Najerilla - near the Sierra de la Demanda; and Tempranillo in the heart of Rioja Alta (the triangle formed by Uruñuela, Torremontablo and Cenicero) as well as the mythical foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria, including Rioja Alavesa and Sonsierra.
