WSET courses with Master of Wine Frank Smulders will be held at Gómez Cruzado in June 2017

Haro, 5th May.- The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) will organize a training session of level 3 (Advanced) in English from June 7 to 12 with the Dutch Master of Wine Frank Smulders in the winery of the Barrio de la Estación Gómez Cruzado, with the coordination of 'Vintage Class' - official supplier of the WSET courses in Spain.

The WSET 3 is an advanced level qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and for wine enthusiasts. For individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of wines, this qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making, as well as how to assess wines accurately, explaining wine style and quality. The course deal with topics of viticulture and oenology, while also covering the world's foremost wine regions, grape varieties, the styles of wine that define different production areas, as well as other matters such as pairing and serving.

The advanced level instructor, Master of Wine Frank Smulder, boasts 30 years of experience in the international wine business and has represented wineries on the international market as well. Smulders also works as a consultant and is a WSET instructor for several different levels in various European countries. He has managed the five-star wine cellar Hotel Residenz Palais Coburg in Vienna, which received the honor of 'World’s Best Wine List' in 2014 from the magazine 'The World of Fine Wine'.

A native of Australia and Scotland, she has more than 20 years of teaching experience in Mexico, Thailand, Australia, Cambridge (UK) and Spain.

In addition to Frank Smulders, the WSET courses taught by 'Vintage Class' are supported by leading wine professionals such as Anna Harris-Noble (DipWSET), a specialist in wine and gastronomy and director of the Taste Exchange; Laura Kent (DipWSET), director of the Yorkshire Wine Academy; and Jenny Siddal, director of the wine tourism agency Taste Rioja, a wine expert in Rioja, where she has been living for more than 13 years (she will be responsible for giving the level 1 and 2 courses in Haro).
