The HARO STATION WINE EXPERIENCE has been given the BEST WINE TOURISM INITIATIVE prize at the fourth WINE ROUTES OF SPAIN WINE TOURISM AWARDS, organised by the SPANISH ASSOCIATION OF WINE CITIES (ACEVIN), as recognition of the quality of the event jointly organised by the seven wineries comprising the iconic Haro district.

Haro Station Wine Experience

There are many ways to recount the Haro Station Wine Experience: as many memories as people with whom we had the pleasure of sharing the best wine event in Spain, on June 16 and 18 in Haro with the seven wineries located in this legendary neighborhood: López de Heredia, CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, La Rioja Alta SA, Bodegas Bilbaínas, Muga and Roda.

The People´s Day

The most exclusive and gourmet part of the Haro Station Wine Experience featured fourteen outstanding wines from the seven wineries in Haro’s Barrio, paired with Michelin-starred Riojan gastronomy by Francis Paniego (El Portal de Echaurren) and Ignacio Echapresto (Venta Moncalvillo), in addition to desserts by Juan Ángel Rodrigálvarez, winner of the National Gastronomy Award 2010 for Best Confectioner. The day’s cultural and oenological activities also highlight this location as unique in the world for its concentration of century-old wineries.

The British Master of Wine Sarah Jane Evans was the 2018 'Maquinista del Año' (Engineer of the Year) leading an unprecedented master tasting exploring the history of the Barrio de la Estación. Tradition is innovation. Innovation is a way to revisit the past. A journey through the history of Riojan wine, with the help of those winemakers who have defended the principles that define this village to produce fine, elegant wines that grow in splendor over time.

Professional Workshop

800 people gathered in Haro for this day designed for wine professionals. Journalists, sommeliers, Masters of Wine, wine and food critics, hoteliers, opinion leaders and international press hailing from eleven countries tried innovative and legendary wines from the seven wineries in Haro’s Barrio de la Estación.


Javier Jubera

Javier Jubera already boasts an established career as an illustrator working with publishing houses, musicians, print media and posters. In the framework of Haro Station Wine Experience, at the Gómez Cruzado winery, Jubera reveals an artistic creation wherein illustration dialogues with the world of wine: the grapegrower in relation with Rioja’s vineyards landscape.
