The 2020 Haro Station Wine Experience now has a firm date. Next 20 June this iconic district of Haro, the cradle of Rioja wine, will host the fourth edition of this great wine event organised by six of the most reputed wineries in the country: CVNE, GÓMEZ CRUZADO, LA RIOJA ALTA S.A., VIÑA POMAL BODEGAS BILBAÍNAS, MUGA and RODA.
The GÓMEZ CRUZADO winery in Haro’s Barrio de la Estación enters the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame when it receives, in 2019, for the fifth consecutive year, the Certificate of Excellence granted by the travel website and that rewards tourist establishments for their hospitality. depending on the number of good opinions collected continuously from travelers.
Historic wineries from the famed HARO STATION DISTRICT in Spain came to together on Wednesday, May 22 at the High Line in New York City to celebrate the RIOJA RAILWAY WINE EXPERIENCE. The wineries in attendance included: GÓMEZ CRUZADO, LA RIOJA ALTA S.A., BODEGAS BILBAÍNAS VIÑA POMAL, MUGA and RODA. This is the first time these five wineries have come together in an international showcase with their most prestigious wines. The RIOJA RAILWAY WINE EXPERIENCE is a milestone for these wineries as they have participated in LA CATA DEL BARRIO DE LA ESTACIÓN in Haro in previous years, yet the wineries decided to come to one of the most important, global markets for an iconic event. With over 275 attendees at the GRAND TASTING, this has been one of the largest focused wine and food events for trade on the High Line. The MASTERCLASSES, The RIOJA RAILWAY: Past, Present and Future of Rioja Winemaking, moderated by the first Spanish Master of Wine, Pedro Ballesteros, demonstrated how Haro was at the epicenter of winemaking and turned Rioja into one of the top wine regions of the world.
Dutch Master of Wine Frank Smulders will teach the advanced level 3 course of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in English June 11th – 15th at the Gómez Cruzado Winery located in the Barrio de la Estación of Haro. This course is part of the annual academic program offered in this Rioja winery by Vintage Class – the official WSET provider in Spain. In 2019 WSET, the world’s most acclaimed and recognized wine education and training institution, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. What’s more, Master of Wine Frank Smulder will lead a preparatory tasting for the Level 4 WSET Diploma in Wines on Thursday, June 13th for students interested in this qualification, professionals and enthusiasts.
