GÓMEZ CRUZADO RECEIVES ITS THIRD CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE FROM TRIPADVISOR

It honors tourist destinations for their hospitality

Haro, 21st June 2017.- The GÓMEZ CRUZADO winery located in Haro’s Barrio de la Estación in La Rioja has been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for the third year in a row. It recognizes tourist destinations for their hospitality and is granted only to those establishments that consistently receive good reviews from travelers.

To select the winners of this award, TripAdvisor utilizes a proprietary algorithm to evaluate the quality, quantity and authenticity of travelers' reviews on TripAdvisor over the period of a year, as well as the presence and popularity of the property on-line. To quality, companies must maintain an overall rating of 4 out of 5 points on TripAdvisor, meet the minimum number of reviews, and have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

Founded in 1886, GÓMEZ CRUZADO was one of the first wineries to set up shop during the 19th century in the Barrio de la Estación in Haro. Eager to share wine culture and Rioja's winemaking heritage, GÓMEZ CRUZADO opens every day of the week to allow wine lovers to experience Rioja's history and the evolution of this century-old winery that offers fine wines with typicity from Haro. Thanks to the boutique nature of this winery and its artisanal focus, visitors can travel through the past and present of Riojan wine-making through by-the-glass tastings, guided tours, and premium tastings.

TripAdvisor’s recognition underscores GÓMEZ CRUZADO's unwavering commitment to excellence in wine tourism, where genuine hospitality and a meticulous attention to detail guide every process.

New times at a century-old winery

GÓMEZ CRUZADO  is the smallest winery in the privileged and historic location of the Barrio de la Estación in Haro. In their recently renovated facilities, science and technical knowledge work with precision to create well-defined wines suitable for contemporary times without renouncing the traditional Rioja style. Today, GÓMEZ CRUZADO is run by the duo of David González and Juan Antonio Leza: two young Riojan oenologists and viticulture technicians with over a decade of experience as consultants for major projects in various wine-making regions. David and Juan Antonio began to work on this project in 2008 as consultants, and today it is their foremost passion.

GÓMEZ CRUZADO is part of the Rioja Alta Wine Route: a private-public endeavor designed to energize and promote the historic, artistic, and environmental wealth of this privileged wine-making region. The winery is also member of the Association for Tourism Development in the Haro's Station District and of Rioja's Centenarian and Traditional Wineries' Group.
